Displaying over 100 works on Photography Tradition Day

On the afternoon of March 10, at Tu Tuong Park (Hue City), the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists coordinated with the Provincial Association of Cultural and Arts to hold the 66th anniversary of the Vietnam Photography Tradition Day, 180th anniversary of the day the world invented photographic technique and 150th anniversary of the day the celebrity Dang Huy Tru brought photography to Vietnam.

At the anniversary, the photographic artists from many provinces and cities all over the country reviewed the photography tradition together. Mr. Vu Quoc Khanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists stressed: “Many works not only beautify today life but also contain the documentary values for future. Some valuable works will become the photo heritages of the country. Each photo work is a beautiful story, a human culture message, which have strong pervasion in the society. This is also the main orientation of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in the artistic photo creation in the coming time”.

In the framework of the anniversary, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists opened the artistic photo exhibition “Vietnam my Motherland”. The exhibition introduced more than 100 works of Vietnamese photographers from 16 provinces and cities in the Central and Central Highland regions. The works introduced to the public the beauty of the landscapes, cultures, festivals and normal life of the land and people in the Central – Central Highland regions.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism awarded certificate of merits to Thua Thien Hue Photography Association and the individuals with excellent achievements in photography activities, in which Thua Thien Hue has three members: Nong Thanh Toan, Le Tan Thanh and Le Nhat Quang. The Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists also awarded certificate of merits, commemorative medals, and dubbed tittles to individuals with many contributions to and excellent achievements in photography activities.
