Introducing to the audience 29 works of 29 authors, the exhibition includes the participation of many generations of artists and new faces outside the Fine Arts Association. By using various materials, such as oil paint, lacquer, acrylic, synthetic materials, wood carving, flowers and flower mosaics, wooden statues ... the artists have exploited many ways of expressing the language of shaping as well as expressing their different artistic styles.

The works have created a colorful picture of the artists’ emotions of the change of the earth and sky, of the vibes of life or the humanized views of the Ky Hoi zodiac (the pig) and the metaphorical messages of human life behind the image of a pig - the animal which is so familiar and deeply embedded in the Vietnamese folklore as a symbol of wealth, prosperity and happiness.

The exhibition brings light and deep aesthetic feelings to viewers

Painter Nguyen Thien Duc, Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Fine Arts Association shared: “The exhibition is an opportunity to introduce new works on the theme of spring and the Ky Hoi zodiac of 2019. It is also an elegant pleasure of us artists. Hopefully, the exhibition will bring light but deep aesthetic feelings, to make art lovers a little more excited in these spring days”.

In the afternoon of the same day, at Song Nhu Art Gallery (14 Alley, 7 Nguyen Cong Tru), the opening ceremony of the gallery with the theme “Draw pigs in the year of the pig” took place.

This is an annual activity co-organized by painter Dang Mau Tuu and Hue painters, as a spiritual gift to the public as Spring Ky Hoi 2019 is approaching.

24 artists brought to the gallery 32 works, including 5 very young artists. This is also the first time the gallery has seen the participation of 2 painters from Quang Binh. From the familiar materials: lacquer, oil paint, acrylic, paper ... the artists have shown the image of pigs with many perspectives, impressing the viewers.

Painter Dang Mau Tuu confided: "Although some of the works are liberal as a stroll, gently fluttering with randomness while others show the depth, elegance and subtlety of the folk-style beauty, they all show the well wishes for the new year. At times, the works show a funny, witty way of thinking, making the audience smile and bringing to the audience a little happiness.”

Like a year-end reunion of artists, the exhibition is an opportunity for artists to meet and introduce new works about the zodiac animal. It is a chance to say goodbye to the old year of hard work and welcome the New Year with lots of excitement, adding more colors to the traditional Tet holiday.

Both exhibitions take place until 14/2.
