The exhibition themed Buddhism and Compassion organized by the Provincial Department of Culture of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha is about to take place from May 26th to June 7th at Lieu Quan Buddhist Cultural Center (at 15A Le Loi street, Hue City).

Within the framework of celebrations for the Vesak 2567, the exhibition introduces to the public more than 60 pictures sketching the trials and tribulations of the Buddha and the Buddhist movements in 1963.

Most of them revolve around two events that took place in 1963 in Hue and Saigon, particularly the image of the Buddist monk Thich Quang Duc committing self-immolation at the intersection of Phan Dinh Phung and Le Van Duyet street (in Sai Gon), and "the undying heart" of Thich Quang Duc after self-immolation, along with portraits of holy martyrs...

According to the Organization Board, the images exhibited are emotive works that are expected to arouse the public’s recollections, especially the Buddhist followers, of the past lessons, so that they would strive to reinforce and further enhance Buddhism's teachings and values. The exhibition is open to the public until June 7th.
