| Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong - Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee highly appraised the efforts of the project investor and construction units |
This ceremony is a meaningful activity commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30th) and International Labor Day (May 1st).
The bridge over Thuan An seaport is a component of the coastal road project through Thua Thien Hue Province (now Hue City) and the Thuan An seaport overpass itself. The entire coastal road project in Hue City spans approximately 21,8 km; in phase one, 7,785 km will be constructed, including the bridge, with a total investment of VND 2.400 billion sourced from both central and local budgets.
The Thuan An seaport overpass is a permanent structure built with reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete. It belongs to Group A of transportation projects and is classified as a special-grade structure. The bridge is 2,36 km long and 20 meters wide, with the main spans reaching a width of up to 23,5 meters.
The bridge uses an extradosed beam-cable hybrid structure for its main spans, with the longest span measuring 218 meters, offering high technical and economic efficiency. According to the plan, the bridge is expected to be technically open to traffic by National Day (September 2nd, 2025), with full completion aimed by the end of 2025.
Once completed, the coastal road will seamlessly connect with the national coastal road system, contributing to socio-economic development, forming a coastal tourism route along Hue City's shore, supporting the growth of coastal urban areas, and improving the quality of life for residents in coastal communes and the entire city.

The project will strengthen regional connectivity, facilitate North-South transportation, enhance links with seaports, key coastal economic zones, and industrial parks in Central Vietnam; and, improve capacity for disaster prevention, rescue, and protection of people’s lives and property during the stormy season. It will also attract investors, businesses, and large corporations to develop infrastructure projects in tourism, services, resorts, and other socio-economic areas in Hue City.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong - Chairman of Hue City People's Committee commended the investor and construction units for their efforts, affirming that the coastal road and Thuan An seaport overpass are key projects with strategic significance for the city's socio-economic development. He urged all parties to continue working diligently to ensure the bridge is technically open to traffic by September 2nd, 2025.
