Despite unfavorable weather conditions, the highland market still attracts a large number of visitors

The market serves as a platform to promote the rich culture, cuisine, and culinary traditions of local ethnic communities, while promoting the consumption of local products and expanding market reach for local agriproducts, specialties, traditional crafts and handicrafts.

The market features 20-30 stalls and numerous hands-on activities for residents and visitors. In the cultural and experiential area, artisans demonstrate traditional crafts, including Zeng brocade weaving, and introduce traditional musical instruments. Visitors can also take part in folk games such as bamboo dancing and rice pounding, as well as posing for photos in traditional costumes.

Another highlight of the market is the Guol house, where artifacts, documents, and photographs offer a glimpse into the daily life, livelihoods, and production of the Co Tu community. There is a space for displaying OCOP-certified products, souvenirs, handicrafts, agriproducts, and local specialties from Khe Tre Commune and neighboring areas.

Highland cuisine is another major draw at the market, with stalls offering a selection of rustic and traditional dishes and beverages. The space for agriproducts and specialties is organized into different categories, including fresh produce, OCOP-certified products, and traditional craft products.

A special highlight is the ‘Night of the Great Forest’ music show, held at an open-air stage with the Guol house as its backdrop. The program features gong performances, traditional dances, and songs celebrating the homeland, the country, the Communist Party and President Ho Chi Minh. The music show has the participation of local groups, clubs, and singers. The musical program is followed by a campfire gathering, giving visitors a chance to connect with the local community.

Issuing the decision to establish the Kazan Dai Ngan art troupe

On this occasion, the organizing committee officially launched the strengthened Kazan Waterfall Community Tourism Cooperative and announced the establishment of the Kazan Dai Ngan art troupe. The move contributed to leveraging local cultural resources, promoting community-based tourism, and gradually developing more distinctive tourism products in Khe Tre.

Taking place over 2 days (September 1 and 2), the market provides locals and visitors a chance to experience a unique and special cultural space, enjoy local cuisine and specialties, and immerse themselves in distinctive cultural and artistic activities of the Khe Tre highlands. The event is expected to promote Co Tu cultural identity, boost community-based tourism, and provide visitors with another experiential destination during the National Day holiday.
