At the meeting, both sides affirmed that tourism is an important economic sector, contributing positively to the socio-economic development of each country. In the context of increasingly strong Vietnam–Russian Federation relations, tourism cooperation between the two countries has seen many positive developments. Russia continues to be one of Vietnam’s key tourism markets, with a growing number of visitors choosing Vietnam to explore its distinctive culture, cuisine, and natural landscapes.

Speaking at the session, Permanent Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh proposed that the Russian Federation Tourism Association support connecting Hue City with Russian localities that have strengths in tourism; enhance the exchange of tourist flows; and promote cooperation between travel businesses on both sides. At the same time, he emphasized strengthening business-to-business (B2B) connections, increasing the promotion of Hue as a destination in the Russian market, supporting the implementation of communication campaigns, and developing tourism products tailored to Russian visitors’ preferences. Special attention should be given to developing specialized tour packages and training human resources to serve this market.

Hue City’s leader also proposed that the Russian side pay attention to and create favorable conditions for its airlines to study and promote the opening of new routes connecting Phu Bai International Airport with Cam Ranh International Airport, contributing to increasing visitor numbers and forming linked destination tours with reasonable costs and diverse experiences.

According to statistics, in 2025, Hue welcomed approximately 6,3 million visitors, an increase of more than 61% compared to 2024. Of these, international arrivals reached about 1,9 million, while domestic visitors totaled around 4,4 million. Total tourism revenue was estimated at over 13 trillion VND. Particularly, the Russian market alone accounted for 5,305 visitors, representing 0.8% of total international overnight visitors. In the first two months of 2026, Hue received 1.633 Russian visitors, accounting for 1,1%.
