Amid days of cold rain and floodwaters submerging the fields, Hue welcomes a return of warm sunshine. As the waters recede across different stretches of farmland, farmers make the most of the moment, clearing and restoring their fields to prepare them for the new winter-spring crop.

Grateful for the fertile land and looking ahead to a bountiful winter-spring harvest season, Hue Today Weekly would like to introduce readers to a series of photos taken by photographer Phan Thang, captured in Thanh Phuoc fields of Hoa Chau, the heart of the flood-prone region.

As the sun rises higher, we extend our best wishes to the farmers, may their steps be steady and resilient, so that the young rice seedlings soon take root, grow strong and green, and usher in a season of warm and abundant harvest.
