According to the Department of Home Affairs, as of now, it has received 252 reports from businesses on wage levels, wage arrears in 2025, and plans for bonuses for the 2026 New Year and 2026 Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse).

The consolidated results showed that the average monthly wage in 2025 reached 8.759 million VND/employee, up 5.26% from 2024. Notably, private businesses and foreign direct investment (FDI) businesses continued to maintain relatively high average wage levels, with some firms paying monthly salaries of up to hundreds of millions VND for senior management and highly skilled technical positions.

Regarding bonuses, the average New Year bonus for 2026 was 1.128 million VND/employee, representing an increase of 10,48% compared with the 2024 survey results. For the 2026 Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse), the average bonus reached 7.759 million VND/ employee, marking a year-on-year increase of 31.70%.

Notably, Lunar New Year bonuses for 2026 showed significant disparities across different types of businesses. FDI businesses recorded the highest bonus at 324.457 million VND/ employee, while the lowest stood at 500,000 VND/employee.

Private enterprises reported a maximum Lunar New Year bonus of 200 million VND/employee and a minimum of 500,000 VND/employee. For enterprises with state-dominant shareholding or capital contributions, the highest bonus reached 110 million VND/employee; and, the lowest, 1 million VND/ employee. Meanwhile, wholly state-owned one-member limited liability companies offered maximum bonuses of 22.560 million VND/employee, with the minimum at 3 million VND.

According to the Department of Home Affairs, the highest bonus levels were concentrated in the tourism and services, automobile manufacturing and assembly, and textile and garment sectors.
