Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Member of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh affirmed that the conference achieved many notable results, demonstrating the spirit of cooperation and experience sharing in the work of preserving and promoting heritage values associated with improving the quality of life for the residents.

“With the theme “Enhancing livability for sustainable development of World Heritage Cities”, the conference was not only an occasion to exchange and share experiences, but also an opportunity to lay the foundation for specific cooperative projects in the future,” emphasized Mr. Binh.

The representative of the host city affirmed that Hue will continue to cooperate closely with the OWHC and other members to implement common initiatives, aiming for a liveable heritage urban model - where heritage is not only preserved, but also becomes a resource for development.

Within the framework of the conference, Hue City organized many cultural activities and exchange programs between cities, leaving a deep impression on both domestic and international delegates. These activities contributed to spreading the message that Hue wished to convey: Preserving the past to nurture the future; developing today so that heritage may live forever.

Representing the OWHC, Mr. Mikhael de Thyse, Secretary-General of OWHC, highly appreciated Hue's proactive role in organizing the conference, and at the same time emphasized the importance of the spirit of regional cooperation.

According to Mr. Mikhael, this conference marked an important step forward in connecting the professional vision and practical actions of heritage cities. He hopes that the spirit of solidarity and the experiences shared in Hue will continue to spread throughout the region, expanding cooperation and exchange among world heritage cities.

To conclude the conference, the OWHC announced that Andong City (the Republic of Korea) will be the host city for the 6th OWHC-AP Regional Conference in 2027.

The three days of the conference in Hue not only helped the heritage cities in the region strengthen their relationships, but also once again affirmed Hue's pioneering role in connecting, preserving, and promoting heritage values for a sustainable future.
