On the morning of April 20, Hue City Institute for Development Studies, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hue City, organized a training workshop titled: “Applying Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Standards in Production and Business Operations: Sustainable Solutions to Expand Markets and Supply Chains”.

On the morning of April 17, Hue City Fisheries Association officially launched a project titled “Green Fisheries - A Circular Economic Initiative Led by Women in the Fisheries Sector in Hue City” (HUEFIS). The project aims to address the challenges related to gender inequality, environmental protection, and foster the sustainable development of the fisheries sector in Hue City’s coastal and lagoon localities.

Phu Bai Industrial Park is steadily asserting its role as a key growth driver of the locality, making significant contributions to the socio-economic development of Phu Bai Ward in particular and the city in general. On the afternoon of March 12th, the Swiss Tourism for Sustainable Development Project in Vietnam officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with two leading tourism training institutions in central Vietnam: the School of Hospitality and Tourism - Hue University and Hue Tourism College. On 7 January, on behalf of the Politburo, General Secretary To Lam signed and promulgated Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW on the development of Vietnamese culture. The Resolution was issued in the context of the country entering a new stage of development with increasingly high requirements for rapid and sustainable development, with a close linkage between the economy, politics, society, culture and the people.

On January 23rd, the Department of Finance, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Luxembourg Project Management Unit, the Technical Assistance Office of Project VIE/039, and Musa Pacta Joint Stock Company, organized a workshop to assess the results and development potential of the banana value chain in Hue City.

The “Restructuring the Tourism Sector to Meet the Requirements of Becoming a Key Economic Sector” plan, approved under Decision No. 1685/QD-TTg dated December 5th, 2018 by the Prime Minister, has established an important policy framework for the comprehensive renewal of the tourism sector.
