Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh, and Director of Grab Vietnam Market Development Tran Hoang Tuan attended and gave speeches at the ceremony.
At the ceremony, 37 Grab cyclos officially came into a trial operation, using digital technology through the Grab app with QR code scanning. Passengers can book Grab cyclos via the Grab app and they will be picked up or dropped off at 5 locations, including: the area opposite Hien Nhon Gate, near Doan Thi Diem parking lot, Nam Xuong Bastion parking lot, Nam Thang Bastion parking lot, and Toa Kham wharf.
Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh emphasized that Grab cyclos are a new mode of transportation. Grab cyclo service is provided only in Hue, aligning with the goal of green transportation, smart, sustainable conveyance, and it is a preferred option for many tourists when traveling around Hue.
Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh noted that, along with the support from departments, agencies, and localities, each Grab cyclo driver must always maintain proper conduct in communication and act as an ambassador for Hue City in the development of the tourism service.
Grab cyclo service not only meets the experiential needs of tourists but also helps spread the message of a friendly, safe, convenient, and sustainable Hue City.

Mr. Tran Hoang Tuan, Director of Grab Vietnam Market Development said: “Currently, Hue is the only locality where Grab Vietnam has run this service, with the aim of contributing an additional service to the market and providing digital transformation-based livelihood opportunities for local workers.
After the trial phase, Grab Vietnam will continue to collaborate with local authorities to expand pick-up and drop-off points for Grab cyclo service, offering more choices for passengers and ensuring a convenient experience for sightseeing and exploration trips.
Currently, Grab Vietnam is offering services in 8 countries across Southeast Asia, including Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
