12 years ago, the cooperation with Nagoya University, Japan, provided Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy’s Hospital with support in modern machinery and equipment, along with systematic human resource training. This laid the foundation for the establishment of the Center for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy’s Hospital, a center with synchronized, modern equipment that is considered among the leading in the Central region and the whole country. This collaboration also opened a new chapter in the history of development of the endoscopy and gastroenterology specialty, not only for the university’s hospital, but also for this specialty in the Central region and the whole country.
This scientific workshop gathered leading professors and experts in the endoscopy and gastroenterology field from Japan. This is a particularly significant event, marking the strong and effective cooperation over the past 12 years.
In the context of modern medicine, gastrointestinal endoscopy is not limited to diagnosis, but is strongly expanding into treatment, from techniques like endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), and ERCP, to the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the early detection of gastrointestinal cancer, diagnosis, and treatment of complex diseases of the bile pancreatic system. These advancements not only bring great value to patients, but also contribute to improving the quality of training and scientific research.
At the workshop, leading experts from Nagoya, Japan, shared their experiences and updated the latest knowledge. It was also an opportunity for the staff, lecturers, doctors, delegates, and students of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy to learn, discuss, and expand research cooperation. This was also an occasion for the university and generations of endoscopists in Hue and the Central region to express gratitude for Nagoya University's support, and to continue the path of cooperation and development in the future.
