Strengthening economic and cultural trade between Shizuoka city and Hue city

Shizuoka is one of 13 cities directly under the central government of Japan, which is a developed city in industry, commerce, tourism services and education.

In May 2005, Hue city and Shizuoka city signed a cooperation agreement to expand development opportunities in the fields of exchange of teachers, administrative personnel and students, as well as of educational information.

From 2005 up to present, Shizuoka city has supported many activities in Hue city, such as organizing training courses to bring engineers of Hue to Shizuoka to exchange experiences, supporting students to learn Japanese for free at the Vietnam - Japan Exchange Center in Hue, receiving students from Hue to Shizuoka for short-term exchange…

Shizuoka city has organized many delegations to visit and work with Hue, including Lions Club Shizuoka, which has introduced a number of Japanese companies to contact the leaders of Hue city in Japan, as well as in Hue city, to learn about the investment environment. Shizuoka University has granted scholarships to 20 excellent students of Hue to study at Shizuoka...

At the meeting, Secretary Phan Thien Dinh highly appreciated the cooperation and support of Shizuoka city over the past time, which contribute to creating favorable conditions for students in the area to access to Japanese language, expanding opportunities in investment as well as in visiting and learning about the country and people of Japan.

In the coming time, Hue city wishes to continue to maintain and further promote cooperation in the fields of culture, education and training programs, including exchange of teachers, administrative personnel and students, in parallel with a focus on economic development cooperation and activities of interest to both sides. In particular, Hue city desires to continue to receive the cooperation and support of Shizuoka city to promote economic trade and cultural exchange between the two sides.

On the occasion of the upcoming Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023, Hue city hopes that Shizuoka's businesses will come to Hue to participate in activities to strengthen friendship and contribute to the success of the festival, taking part in the socio-economic development of the two cities.
