According to CNN, salt coffee is becoming a popular beverage trend on social networking platforms

According to CNN, “Ca Phe Muoi” (Salt Coffee) – a modest coffee shop in Hue ancient capital - is credited with creating this unique drink. Salt coffee is made by adding sweetened condensed milk to Vietnamese coffee and topping it with salted cream, served either hot or with ice.

In an interview with CNN, Ho Thi Thanh Huong and her co-founder, Tran Nguyen Huu Phong, shared: “We created salt coffee in 2010 when we opened our first shop at 10 Nguyen Luong Bang Street. The combination of condensed milk and salt tempers the bitterness of the coffee and balances the sweetness of the milk.”

CNN noted that Vietnamese salt coffee is becoming a new culinary trend. In US, many people are trying to customize their coffee to replicate this drink.
