On March 4th, the Japanese Emperor and Empress visited several monuments and listened to the distinctive royal court music at the Duyet Thi Duong theater. Then, the imperial couple visited the memorial house dedicated to Phan Boi Chau, a patriot and initiator of Dong Du movement in early 20th century that encouraged young Vietnamese to study in Japan and seek ways to save the nation.

On this occasion, the Japanese Emperor and Empress will explore the cultural and historical tradition, visit the scenic spots in Hue Imperial City, and meet JICA volunteers who are working in the social and cultural fields of Thua Thien Hue .... The visit of the Emperor and Empress in Thua Thien Hue not only shows the Emperor's personal feelings towards Vietnam as well as Thua Thien Hue province, but also a historical milestone in the two countries' relations, amid a far-reaching strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia between Vietnam and Japan.
