Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phuong has a courtesy meeting with the Ambassador of Denmark to Vietnam

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of July 21, at the headquarters of Hue City People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee had a courtesy meeting with H.E. Nicolai Prytz, Ambassador of Denmark to Vietnam and his delegation.

At the meeting 

At the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong expressed his pleasure in welcoming the Ambassador and the delegation on their visit and working trip to Hue. He emphasized that the visit carried special significance, contributing to strengthening and expanding the friendly cooperative relationship between Hue City and Danish partners, especially in the context of the two countries preparing to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1971 - 2026).

Providing an overview of the city’s development, Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong stated that Hue is focusing on realizing its vision of becoming a “heritage, cultural, ecological, scenic, environmentally friendly, and smart” urban area. In the first half of the year, the city’s economic growth was estimated at 9.39%, with a significant contribution from Carlsberg Vietnam. Carlsberg has not only contributed to the local budget and created jobs but also serves as a model for sustainable development and environmental responsibility.

According to the Chairman of the People’s Committee, the number of visitors to Hue has continued to increase significantly this year, including many tourists from Denmark. The city is also ready to serve as a host for activities celebrating the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Denmark, including cultural and artistic exchange events, etc.

Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong expressed his hope that Hue would continue to receive the support and cooperation from the Ambassador and Danish agencies and organizations in key areas such as green growth, digital transformation, education and training, renewable energy, smart urban development, and climate change adaptation. He also suggested that the Danish Ambassador be as a bridge to promote interest and engagement from Danish businesses, universities, and organizations in exploring cooperation and investment opportunities in Hue, a locality that is building a friendly investment environment, streamlined administrative procedures, and holds a strategic position in the Central region of Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nicolai Prytz congratulated Hue on officially becoming a centrally-run governed municipality, a significant milestone in its development journey. He highly appreciated Hue’s increasingly outstanding role in international cooperation, especially its proactive and open approach in establishing connections with Danish cities.

Mr. Nicolai Prytz expressed his admiration for the cultural and historical depth of Hue, as well as its potential for sustainable development, particularly its orientations toward green growth, smart urban development, and environmental protection. The Ambassador also acknowledged the notable cultural and educational cooperation between Hue and Denmark in recent years, including various art exchange programs, student exchanges, Danish Film Week, and the participation of Danish artists at Hue Festivals.

Mr. Nicolai Prytz affirmed that, in his role as a diplomatic bridge, he would continue to promote cooperation between Denmark and Hue across various fields. He also expressed his confidence that Hue would remain an attractive destination for Danish delegations, investors, and development organizations, thereby contributing to deepening the friendly relationship between the two sides in the coming time.
