South Korea takes the lead on the markets of visitors to Hue

HNN.VN - According to the report of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee, in the first 6 months of 2017, the number of tourists to Thua Thien Hue province was estimated at 1.75 million arrivals, increasing by nearly 2% over the same period of last year. Social tourism revenue was estimated at VND 1,735 billion, rising by more than 8%.

Guest occupancy was estimated at 955,000 arrivals, growing by more than 2%; the total number of overnight visitors was over 852,000 arrivals, increasing by nearly 2%; among this, international visitors were estimated at over 414,000 arrivals, growing by nearly 7%. The turnover of accommodation establishments was estimated at over VND 734 billion.

South Korea became the lead on the market of international visitors to Thua Thien Hue with more than 97,000 visitors, making up 26%. Some traditional markets still had stable growth rate such as France (over 12%), UK (6%), US (nearly 7%), Germany (nearly 7%)... The number of visitors from Thailand remained stagnant atmore than 21,000, accounting for nearly 6%.

In the first 6 months of 2017, Thua Thien Hue focused on the key Program in tourism, and attended to promotional activities in order to promote destinations and to advertise for tourism. In addition, tourism affiliations with domestic as well as overseas cities and provinces were strengthened and expanded; many new tourism products were created, notably the opening of the Citadel at night, contributing to the increase of visitors to the monument in particular and to Thua Thien Hue in general.
