International tourist arrivals to Hue in Quarter 1 exceed 255 thousand
HNN.VN - According to the Department of Tourism, in the first 3 months of 2023 (Quarter 1), the estimated number of international tourists visiting Hue is over 255 thousand, a 55-fold increase compared to the same period last year.

In the first quarter, tourism in Hue attracted a total of approximately 633 thousand turns of visitors, doubled the amount of the same period last year; of which, international visitors reached an estimated 255 thousand, and domestic visitors staying in accommodation facilities reached 379 thousand, tripled the amount compared to the same period. The total tourism revenue in the first quarter is estimated at 1,415 billion VND, 2.9 times higher than the same period last year.
In March 2023 alone, the number of tourists visiting Hue is estimated at 216 thousand turns of visitors; of which, international visitors reached 90 thousand, and domestic staying visitors reached 129 thousand. The tourism revenue is estimated at 486.4 billion VND, doubled the amount compared to the same period last year.
The Department of Tourism has coordinated with the People's Committee of Hue City to organize the “Greeting Hue Summer Festival 2023” with the carnival “Colors of Tourism” on the occasion of the opening of the Hai Ba Trung pedestrian street. This is the beginning of a series of festivals and events of the tourism in 2023.
Accordingly, there will be a series of other festivals organized by the Department of Tourism or in coordination with the Provincial Tourism Association and other partners to stimulate tourism demand, such as the International Hot Air Balloon Festival titled “Hue - The Beauty of the Ancient Capital” from April 12-20; “Hue Lotus” Culinary Festival from May 18-20; Hue Hip-Hop Festival from June 24-25; Hue Unicorn Dance Festival from September 16-17; Hue Wellness Tourism Week, expected in November 2023; “Street Food Week 2023” taking place from April 22-28, 2023...
In 2023, the tourism industry strives to welcome around 3-3.5 million turns of visitors, of which domestic visitors account for about 70-80%; with a total tourism revenue of about 6,000 - 7,000 billion VND.
