After more than half a century with only foundations and traces remaining, the Thoai Thanh Temple area within the Emperor Gia Long Mausoleum relic complex now has the chance to be reconstructed.

Located about 20km west of Hue Imperial City, Emperor Gia Long's Mausoleum (or Thien Tho Mausoleum) is a relic of the Complex of Hue Monuments, which has been recognized by the UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site.

Recognized as a leading unit in Vietnam and a model for the preservation and restoration of historical relics, on the occasion of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day November 23, Hoang Viet Trung, Director of Hue Monuments Conservation Center, shared fascinating insights with Thua Thien Hue Weekly about the journey to restore and enhance heritage values, contributing to making the Complex of Hue Monuments an attractive destination.

The art of making reliefs appeared in Hue thousands of years ago. It flourished brilliantly in the 17th century along with copper casting and Hue porcelain mosaics on the complex of relics in Hue ancient capital. In the 21st century, painters and skillful artisans in Hue contributed to the development of the art.

During the first two days of the National Day holiday (September 2nd), Hue Ancient Capital welcomed thousands of tourist arrivals. Currently, tourist destinations in Thua Thien Hue, especially the relics belonging to the Complex of Hue Monuments, continue to be bustling with visitors.
