From May 18 to 20, at the City Stadium, the Department of Education and Training, in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports, organized the Athletics Championship for general education students in the city in 2026. The event took place on the occasion of the 136th birthday anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026), contributing to promoting physical training movements, improving health, and enhancing the quality of comprehensive education for students across the city.

On the morning of March 29th, Thanh Thuy Ward held the opening ceremony of its 1st Physical Training and Sports Festival for the 2025–2026 period.

On the afternoon of January 9, the Department of Education and Training held a conference to review Physical education tasks in the academic year of 2024 - 2025, and deploy tasks for the academic year of 2025 - 2026.

In addition to training and being ready for combat, physical training and sports activities are always given special attention by officers and soldiers stationed in Vietnam's Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago. Sports not only help improve physical fitness and ease homesickness for the mainland, but they also act as a "bonding agent" that strengthens the connection between comrades, and between the military and civilians.

The 2024 National Sambo Club Championship, co-organized by the Administration of Sports and Physical Training (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in Nam Dinh Province, closed on May 27. This is the first time the Sambo Club Championship has been organized on a national scale. At the finish of the tournament, the Thua Thien Hue delegation clinched 14 medals, ranking 3rd in the entire delegation in their first-time competition.
