On the day I arrived at the far-off Hong Thuy Commune of the A Luoi border district, I saw the image of a Pa Co woman busily “hunting” goby in a winding stream in the mountain and forest.

At 8 p.m. Tram and her friends were present on the coast in Giang Hai (Phu Loc). They thought they were early, but in the dim light of flashlights, they saw tens of people already there choosing the best herrings.

The Central Coast Museum of Nature (henceforth the Museum) was established in 2009, and its specimen display space was officially open to the public in 2020. Though still being in its “infancy”, the Museum’s exhibition space has attracted many scientists, researchers, and young people who are passionate about learning and experiencing nature conservation and biodiversity.

It has been several decades since fishermen in Ngu Dien Sea (Phong Dien, Thua Thien Hue) have witnessed shoals of scads, herring, shrimp... swimming to the shore. The inshore sea is reviving!

Anyone who has ever been attached will tenderly love “the shallow sea” - the largest mangrove area in Southeast Asia. They try to preserve and promote the value of Tam Giang - Cau Hai lagoon... with all their love and enthusiasm. Many other residents are also joining hands to protect their livelihood and that of future descendants.

Heavy rains and regulation of hydroelectric reservoirs have flooded some low-lying areas. Residents in these areas had to turn to boats to travel more conveniently.
