On the afternoon of March 12, Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Member of the City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, chaired a working session with credit institutions operating in the city.

Hue is undergoing a powerful transformation as it has become a centrally governed city, not only leveraging its natural advantages and distinctive cultural heritage but also proactively seeking new growth drivers. The development of a green logistics center and the establishment of a Free Trade Zone (FTZ) are viewed as strategic breakthroughs for the Ancient Capital.

Hue is leveraging its advantages in location, infrastructure, as well as special mechanisms and policies to step-by-step establish itself as a commercial hub of the Central region; in which, trade and services are identified as key drivers of growth in the coming period.

Hue City’s budget revenue is entering a phase of strong momentum, with a revenue structure becoming increasingly diversified and sustainable. Alongside traditional sources such as textiles and garments, beer production and tourism, the rapid growth of industrial sectors is opening up significant new drivers for local budget growth.

Amid Hue’s unpredictable weather, there exists a quiet yet persistent “green-shirt army” - a group always ready to appear whenever a colleague is in trouble. They are the Hue SOS 247 - Grab Hue team, drivers who brave the weather day and night to rescue broken-down vehicles and help fellow riders in distress. All of it stems from one simple reason: to help one another on every road.

Recently, on the central streets of the city and along the Huong River, many people have noticed cyclos painted in Grab's signature green, with the brand’s logo and QR identification codes. This pilot program is being carried out under a cooperation agreement between Hue City and Grab Vietnam, with a group of cyclo drivers receiving support for vehicle repainting, uniforms, and identification accessories.

Hue City, a distinctive heritage urban area of Vietnam, is gradually transforming its historical and cultural values into economic drivers, creating a sustainable development model that preserves and promotes heritage values.

Amid the bustling rhythm of urban life, I love taking a long pause to enjoy the slow and steady pedaling of Hue’s cyclo drivers. There, although I deeply sympathize with the hard work of these men, who are the breadwinners of their families, in turn, it also reminds me of the strangely peaceful feeling of Hue.
