Upon contemplating the city in the brushstrokes of artist Hoang Dang Khanh, viewers seem to immerse themselves in many different emotions, ranging from peacefulness, romance, desolation, strangeness, sometimes solitariness and loneliness. This artist from Hue seems tireless after many years of pursuing the city theme. As for him, those city quarters not only nourished his soul but also gave him mixed memories of joy and sadness.

For Hoang Dang Khanh, city quarter is not just somewhere to go to and return, and the place of houses to live in; but is also associated with the breath and life, pampering the artist from Hue Ancient Capital with countless emotions.

While Hue Imperial City and the mausoleums of the Nguyen emperors are remnants of a far-off dynasty, the old quarters of Bao Vinh and Gia Hoi are the unfaded imprints of inhabitants’ life of the ancient capital.

As part of a chain of activities to respond to Humanitarian Month 2023, on May 21, Hue City Red Cross Society awarded scholarships of the second quarter to 18 students overcoming difficult circumstances in their studies.
