On the familiar green chalkboard, under the skillful hands of Ms. Le Thi Loc Phuong, an art teacher from Tu Ha Primary School No. 1 (Huong Tra Ward), the heritage sites of Hue such as Ngu Phung Pavilion, Thien Mu Pagoda’s bell tower, or the graceful curve of Truong Tien Bridge gradually come to life. Each delicate stroke of white and colored chalk transforms the classroom chalkboard into a lively painting, evoking an image of Hue that is both serene and poetic.

On the morning of July 25, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, held a Continuing Medical Education (CME) course titled “Strengthening Integrated Management of Hypertension, Diabetes, and Stroke Prevention in the Community”; it also donated 2.000 electronic blood pressure monitors to health stations and people in the area.

Noticeable was the opening of the oil painting exhibition by Hoang Nhu Thuy An at Lieu Quan Buddhist Cultural Center. Hoang Nhu Thuy An is Hoang Nhu Bua’s pseudonym, born in 1948, originally from Cau Hai (Cao Do) in Phu Loc, Hue, but currently living in Da Lat. The special thing is that all those paintings were painted after his stroke culminating in hemiplegia. He has learnt to paint with his left hand since then.

The primeval forest with a system of beautiful streams and waterfalls, the vast lagoon connecting to the ocean, along with many other magnificent landscapes of Phu Loc, have mesmerised sketchers. Standing before such beautiful scenes, the sketcher couldn't help but feel moved to put shimmering, fanciful strokes on the sketches.

In a gentle and meticulous manner, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Tuyen, a girl passionate about Western Calligraphy, devotes her full attention to each stroke. Under the skillful movements of her fingers, each word, with elegant curving ink strokes, appears on the page one after another.

The Diamond Status is a prestigious award from the World Stroke Organization that Hue Central Hospital has been awarded for the first time in early December. This is also the highest award status of the World Stroke Organization for stroke units and stroke centers, which satisfy strict criteria for shortening time of emergency revascularization, screening for causes, and appropriate stroke prophylaxis.

The clock stroke midnight and the moment of transition between the old year of the Tiger and the New Year of the Cat was marked by a series of high-altitude, brilliant fireworks in the sky right at Ky Dai (Flag Tower), in front of Ngo Mon Gate.
