Among the many varieties of fruit, Hue persimmons have a distinctive flavor of their own, especially the heritage varieties associated with century-old garden houses. As autumn arrives, persimmons begin appearing at markets, brightening homes and becoming increasingly popular for sale on social media.

Hue has significant room for industrial development, especially as the city expands its development space. This was affirmed by Mr. Phan Quy Phuong, Member of the Standing Committee of Hue Party Committee and Head of Hue Economic and Industrial Zones Management Board, in an interview with Hue Today Weekly on the advantages driving the growth of the city’s industrial sector.

On September 21st, Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, received a delegation from Waseda University and the University of Tsukuba (Japan). The working session focused on research and implementation of a project on disaster prevention and control, and adaptation to flooding and climate change in the city.

On the afternoon of September 19, Hue City People’s Committee held a meeting to review the organization of Hue Heritage and International Music Festival - Hue Wonderverse Music Fest 2026. On September 17, Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Tran Huu Thuy Giang met with Vietnam Railways (VNR) in Hanoi to discuss a proposed steam train service on the Hue - Danang route, which would connect Hue’s tourism sector with destinations across the region.

The 2026 National Sambo & Sambo Youth Championship concluded on the afternoon of September 16. Delivering an impressive performance, Hue athletes won a total of 27 medals, finishing ahead of strong teams such as the Army, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hung Yen to take first place in the overall team standings.

On September 15th, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, in coordination with Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, organized the 2026 Resident Doctors’ Day and welcomed 150 new resident doctors from 18 specialties for the 2026-2029 training program. These young doctors are beginning their journey of study, practice and research at the hospital.

On September 12th, the Organizing Committee of the 16th Hue City Technical Innovation Contest 2026 held a meeting of the Judging Council and organized specialized judging sessions for the entries registered for this year's contest.

As part of Vietnam - Japan Local Cooperation Forum 2026 in Hue City, on the afternoon of September 5th, leaders of Hue City and Nara Prefecture (Japan) met to discuss cooperation between the two localities.
