On the morning of April 17, Hue City Fisheries Association officially launched a project titled “Green Fisheries - A Circular Economic Initiative Led by Women in the Fisheries Sector in Hue City” (HUEFIS). The project aims to address the challenges related to gender inequality, environmental protection, and foster the sustainable development of the fisheries sector in Hue City’s coastal and lagoon localities.

Before flowing into neighboring Laos, the A Sap River gathers alluvial deposits that enrich the riverbanks, creating a vast watershed for the A Luoi region. From this advantage, “fishermen” in the highlands have developed capture fisheries and aquaculture, contributing to the formation of a riverside community - future prosperous “fishing villages” along the river.

On the morning of March 29th, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in collaboration with Hue’s Fisheries Sub-department, organized the release of 160 thousand endemic fish into the Huong River to restore the aquatic resources of this waterway.
