A Buddha procession spanning over one kilometer and participated by thousands of participants solemnly crossed Truong Tien Bridge, creating a sacred and respectful atmosphere during the Vesak.

Despite the cold and rainy weather, many people in Hue continued the tradition of visiting pagodas on the first day of the Lunar New Year to worship Buddha and pray for a peaceful and prosperous year.

On the late afternoon of May 21 (the 14th day of the 4th month in Lunar Calendar), the Provincial Executive Board of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the Vesak 2568 Organization Board held the Buddha procession ceremony from Dieu De Pagoda to Tu Dam Pagoda.

A large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists and tourists attended the Buddha procession from Dieu De Pagoda (Bach Dang Street) to Tu Dam Pagoda (Su Lieu Quan Street, Hue City) on the afternoon of June 1 (April 14 of the Lunar calendar).

For tourists from all over the world and Hue people, Vesak day (Buddha’s birthday) is an annual event as well as an indispensable spiritual practice with a variety of celebration activities.

On the morning of May 23 (5th of the 4th lunar month, of the year of the Cat), the Board of Administration - The Organizing Committee of the Vesak 2567 in Thua Thien Hue Province performed the rite of launching of seven lotus lanterns onto the middle of the Huong River to celebrate the major occasion.

On the morning of the first day of the Lunar New Year of the Cat 2023, the sunny and cool weather was very convenient for locals and visitors to go to pagodas to worship Buddha and pray for peace, good luck, and happiness for the New Year.
