On the morning of March 5, Hue City held the 2026 military enlistment and handover ceremony at 5 locations across the city. Despite drizzle and unfavorable weather conditions, the events were conducted solemnly, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulations, thanks to thorough preparation, ensuring absolute safety. All young men who had been called up for military service and service in the force of the City People’s Public Security enthusiastically set out to fulfill their sacred duty of defending the Fatherland.

During this Binh Ngo Lunar New Year, the community of Hue heritage enthusiasts receive good news. That is the comeback of the once-renowned lien lang Chuon (the Chuon village decorative scroll). I visited An Dinh Palace on a warm, sunny early spring day. Not counting the respectful foreign visitors pausing before each artifact, I figured that among the more than 20 young people bustling about in ao-dai, with flowers, striking various poses for photos, few knew that they were standing very close to the remnants of a famous theater from the end of the Nguyen Dynasty that has now completely disappeared: Cuu Tu Dai.

The “Compassionate Bus” program, which brings students with disadvantaged backgrounds home for Tet, has become a humanitarian activity of member institutions of Hue University, giving young people the opportunity to reunite with their families during the spring holidays.

These workshops offer not only hands-on experiences in making handicrafts but also moments for young participants to slow down emotionally and freely express themselves through colors that bear their own personal imprint.
