Amid celebrations marking the 81st anniversary of the success of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2026), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the opening ceremony of the 37th Traditional Boat Racing - 2026 on the morning of September 2.

On the morning of August 30, over 4,500 delegates and residents gathered at the Hue City Culture and Sports Square to take part in the “Together with Vietnam, Moving Forward” walking program. The event shared the same atmosphere of excitement, enthusiasm, and solemnity with 34 provinces and cities nationwide, spreading the message ‘10 Billion Green Steps - For a Sustainable Vietnam’ and promoting the spirit of national solidarity.

The 2026 National Archery Championships kicked off on the morning of August 24th at Tu Do Stadium. The tournament is part of Hue Sports Festival 2026, jointly organised by Hue City Department of Culture and Sports and Vietnam Sports Authority.

The final match of the 2026 National Hometown Football Tournament took place on the afternoon of August 23 at the PM Sport artificial turf field in Ho Chi Minh City. Taking place from August 22 to 26 at Ba Cong artificial turf field, the Hue City 7-a-side Football Tournament - Huda Cup 2026 is organized by the Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Leano Group Tourism Media Co., Ltd. The tournament is one of the 19 activities within the Hue Sports Festival 2026.

On July 22nd, 2026, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Official Dispatch No. 4538/BVHTTDL-DSVH to Hue City People’s Committee, expressing its support for Hue in preparing an application to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) in the field of Gastronomy. This is an important step, providing further political and professional support for the city to concentrate resources, complete its application and work toward the 2027 selection cycle.
