This is the goal set by Hue University. Achieving this will not only enhance the role and position of the Institute of Biotechnology in particular and Hue University in general but also the status of the centrally governed city in the coming time. To better understand the direction, implementation solutions, and future role of the center, Thua Thien Hue Weekly had a meeting with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Thi Hong Hai, Director of the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University.

The position, role and influence of Hue University are being affirmed day by day, granting it eligiblility to become a National University.

Investment promotion plays an extremely important role, contributing to attracting investment capital; forming industrial and export processing zones to serve the manufacturing of exports. With a favorable geographical location, open investment attraction policies, gradually refined mechanisms and policies for socio-economic development, etc., Thua Thien Hue has become an attractive destination for domestic and foreign investors.

In addition to their primary function of displaying artifacts, many museums and cultural-artistic spaces also fulfill another important role: organizing events for exchange, conversation, and discussion on related issues. These spaces have become destinations that creates connections between researchers, cultural experts, and enthusiasts.

The young workforce plays an important role in mastering modern techniques and improving the quality of treatment at Hue Central Hospital (BVTW Hue). They are also the successors on the journey of building and developing the hospital towards regional and global standards.

With each edition of Hue Festival, in addition to its role as a place of convergence and interference of unique cultures around the world, the exploitation of the festival to promote economic development is becoming increasingly evident.

On the morning of April 24th, Hue University in collaboration with Friedrich Naumann Foundation (Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF)) organized an international workshop with the theme “Gender and the Role of Women in Smart Cities and Climate Change Adaptation".

Hue Museum of Fine Arts is both a space to display exhibitions that attract the public and, over the years, it has become a popular choice among students as an experiential school destination. Phu Son Waste Treatment Plant (in Phu Son commune, Huong Thuy town) was invested in and built by EB Environmental Energy Ltd. Co. at a cost of roughly 1.7 trillion Vietnamese dong. The plant officially commence operations at the end of January 2024, playing an crucial role in effectively addressing the waste management issue and ensuring environmental hygiene in Thua Thien Hue province - a pressing concern for the community as landfills in Thuy Phuong have reached capacity, disrupting residents’ lives with foul odors emanating from overflowing landfills.

Collaboration plays a crucial role in promoting tourism development. In 2024, as the leader of the tourism development partnership among five localities in Central Vietnam, Thua Thien Hue province will propose and implement various solutions to enhance the effectiveness of collaboration, promote tourism, and contribute to the development of the smoke-free industry.
