Emerging in the late 19th century and early 20th century, jazz quickly spread worldwide, becoming a genre that has attracted diverse cultures in various countries, regions, and communities. It has evolved into a popular art form, connecting with cinema, sports, literature, and many other disciplines. However, in Vietnam, the jazz-listening community remains quite small, lacking widespread venues for the general public. In Hue, jazz is particularly young, both in terms of its audience and the community of musicians who play it.

It has been a few years since I had the chance to cross Hai Van Pass. I just thought the pass would be very deserted because, since the construction of the road tunnel, everyone chose that route for its safety and economy. However, it turns out that I was wrong, the pass remains bustling and vibrant.

Nguyen Ha, a teacher in Kien Giang province, takes a trip to Hue every summer. He visits Hue with family, with friends, or his school. He has often chosen Hue as a destination because he believes that Hue always remains attractive to tourists. Every time he comes to Hue, he discovers more of its hidden yet seductive charm.
