Working on Spratly waves: Tears and smiles

The working trip to the Spratly Archipelago lasted 18 days, but for me, the emotions in my heart are forever filled with years, when I "touched" the sacred waves. Tearful, I looked up at the proudly flying National Flag, imprinting the national image on waves, carrying the image of a resilient soldier in the open sea, and bursting into a heroic song: "The Fatherland’s echoes from the sea..."

Everyone wishes for their child to be born healthy and adorable like any other child. However, there are still unfortunate cases of congenital defects. And then, the "angelic" hands, as if by magic, bring back smiles to the faces of these children, for their families, and for society as a whole.

Nearly 70 doctors and volunteers of the Operation Smile worked hard from dawn to dusk at Hue Dental Hospital continuously for the past 5 days. About 100 patients with congenital defects such as cleft lip, cleft palate, maxillofacial defects... received surgeries, being given the confidence to integrate into the community...

That is not only a 'slogan' of Hue Eye Hospital but also the goal and dedication for nearly 40 years of the Excellent Doctor, Specialist Level 2, Doctor Pham Minh Truong. He is also the first ophthalmologist in Vietnam to receive the title of "Hero in the prevention of blindness" by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) in 2017.
