On the evening of May 17th, the provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations (HUSTA) held the 8th annual ceremony to honor distinguished science and technology (S&T) intellectuals in 2024.

Within the framework of the implementation of the national-level independent project on “Studying and evaluating the current status of the avifauna, and proposing solutions for management and conservation of bird species in coastal lagoon area in Central Vietnam”, which is presided over by the Central Coast Natural History Museum, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and implemented by Dr. Ho Thang, the project leader, the research team has recorded the glossy ibis (Plegadis falcinellus) for the first time in the O Lau estuary of Tam Giang - Cau Hai lagoon.

The Provincial Union of Scientific and Technical Associations, representing the Provincial Technical Innovation Contest organizing committe, has just released information on Thua Thien Hue’s participation and achievements at the 17th National Technical Innovation Competition (2022-2023) and the Science and Technology Innovation Awards of Vietnam in 2023.

The Union of Science and Technology Associations of Thua Thien Hue Province has just launched a book titled “The Imperial Medicine Institute (Thai Y Vien) of the Nguyen Dynasty: History and development prospects”, which is a 440-page book published by Hue University Publishing House.

On January 20th, the Department of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the Department of Intellectual Property and the Ministry of Science and Technology, held a ceremony of announcing, awarding and receiving the Protective Certificate of “Hue” Geographical Indication for Thanh Tra grapefruits of Thua Thien Hue province.

On January 11, leaders of Hue University and other related universities, departments, and faculties had a meeting with Mingsin University of Science and Technology, Taiwan (Mingsin University).

On the afternoon of November 24, Hue University informed that on the same day, the ceremony of the L'Oréal-UNESCO Awards in Science 2023 was held at the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and Hue University had a female scientist winning the prize.

On the afternoon of November 8th, the Department of Science and Technology, in coordination with the Department of Tourism, organized the forum themed “Promoting investment activities and open innovation in the province’s tourism industry”.

On September 29, Hue University held a Kick-off conference of the incubation program to commercialize science and technology products.

On the morning of July 3, at the University of Sciences, Hue University, the closing and awarding ceremony of the Hue-ICT Challenge 2023 – Information Technology Innovation product competition for students of colleges and universities took place.
