With over 120 kilometers of coastline and a vast lagoon system bestowed by nature, Hue is home to numerous attractive seafood markets, including Phu Hau Market and Ngu My Thanh Floating Market, and Vinh Hien Market… In this issue of Hue Today Weekly, we would like to take readers to the fish market of Thuan An through a series of photos taken by Duc Quang, a reporter, offering a glimpse into the vibrant daily life of a coastal fishing community.

On May 22, the City People’s Committee, in coordination with the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency (LuxDev) and WWF-Vietnam, organized the conference on “Unlocking Green Investment for Nature-based Development in Tam Giang - Cau Hai Lagoon”, with the participation of representatives from Central and local ministries and agencies, international organizations, investment funds, and development partners.

The Central Coast Nature Museum has launched the art photography contest “Dance of the Lagoon Birds”. Entries will be accepted from August 18th to October 31st, 2025, from all Vietnamese citizens, capturing vivid and unique moments of bird species living or migrating in lagoons and coastal areas.

Tam Giang - Cau Hai lagoon system is a world-class brackish water area. It is the largest in Southeast Asia, with special value in biological resources and countless gripping things in history and culture.... This area is seen as a "precious biological gem" that nature has bestowed on the ancient capital. With what existent, is it necessary to build an exhibition space or a museum for the Tam Giang - Cau Hai lagoon system?

Hai Duong Commune (Hue City) is considered a most arduous and challenging place with a long coastline to the southeast and Tam Giang lagoon to the southwest. Through many generations exploring the land, establishing villages and settling down, the people of Hai Duong have suffered a lot of pressure from waves and winds; nevertheless, they are still living in harmony with the harsh nature and living on marine products.
