Hue City aims to establish a smart tourism information infrastructure which is compatible with smart devices, contributing to ensuring a consistent management system and the utilization of cultural and tourism information among local organizations. This is the objective of the project to build a smart cultural and tourism Hue city, sponsored by KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency in Vietnam).

With its own strengths and unique characteristics, Thua Thien Hue has built and developed ecotourism products at streams and waterfalls, being predicted to create a breakthrough in ecotourism.

Inside the Hue Imperial Citadel, Can Chanh – the most important palace after Thai Hoa Palace – was built in the 3rd year of Gia Long’s reign (1804) and destroyed in 1947. This is also the palace that is assessed by Western scholars as the most beautiful and splendid construction of the imperial citadel.

On the afternoon of July 14, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Hoang Hai Minh chaired the working session with the delegation of Ritsumeikan University from Japan on the implementation of the Sofix pilot project and the plan to construct the Sofix Laboratory Center in Thua Thien Hue.

Hai Van Gate is known as "world’s most majestic gate", located at an altitude of nearly 500m right at the top of Hai Van Pass. Once served as the military defense for the Hue Citadel, this defensive cluster was built under the Nguyen Dynasty in such a critical position to control the North-South road and Da Nang Bay.

On the morning of May 19, the Provincial Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue coordinated with the Institute for Social and Environment Transition – International (ISET-International) – Plan International Office in Switzerland held a national workshop on the project of building up resilience to flood for the community in Thua Thien Hue province.
