The Provincial Union of Scientific and Technical Associations, representing the Provincial Technical Innovation Contest organizing committe, has just released information on Thua Thien Hue’s participation and achievements at the 17th National Technical Innovation Competition (2022-2023) and the Science and Technology Innovation Awards of Vietnam in 2023.

The Department of Tourism has reported that during the Giap Thin Lunar New Year (Year of the Dragon), the number of tourists visiting Hue for sightseeing and experiences has significantly increased compared to that of the same period in 2023, with many accommodation facilities fully booked during the festive days.

On the evening of January 21st, Thua Thien Hue Dance Artists Association organized a summary of its activities in 2023.

Ms. Dinh Thi Hoai Trai, Director of the Hue Fine Arts Museum, announced on January 19th that the museum received nearly 60,000 visitors in 2023. Visitors were mainly attracted to Le Ba Dang and Diem Phung Thi art exhibitions. According to Ms. Trai, this figure represents a 40% increase compared to that of the year 2022.

In 2023, Ho Chi Minh Museum in Thua Thien Hue welcomed more than 122,000 visitors to the museum, as well as the relics under its management.

From over 200 nominations and 15.000 votes, the program “Vietnam’s Top 7 Impressions 2023”, held by the editorial board of Sai Gon Tiep Thi (Saigon Marketing), under the group of Saigon Times, has identified 35 most impressive destinations and tourist experiences. Thua Thien Hue has 3 destinations of 3 categories listed in the “Vietnam’s Top 7 Impressions 2023”.

In 2023, the five localities have promoted tourism linkage and achieved many positive results, especially in product development and tourism promotion. The affiliated group has jointly done promotions at international tourism fairs and organized introduction programs in other countries.

Forty distinctive garden houses voluntarily registered to participate in the project, meeting the criteria and gaining approval to join the project for the period 2023 - 2026.

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, along with the uncertain global economic and political situation, has directly affected the export sector. However, thanks to efforts to diversify markets and export goods, Thua Thien Hue's merchandise export turnover reached 1.1 billion USD in 2023, creating momentum for a breakthrough in 2024.

At the end of 2023, a reputable American travel magazine proposed Hue as one of the must-visit destinations in Asia that tourists should not miss in their 2024 travel itinerary. Furthermore, this is also the year when tourism in Hue received numerous prestigious awards of the world.
