Joining hands for poor and ethnic minority children

HNN.VN - That was the theme of the Action Month for Children 2019, launched by the Provincial People's Committee in A Luoi District on the morning of May 28. The launching ceremony was attended by Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Bui Thanh Ha; and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Dung.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman Nguyen Dung asked the departments, branches, and localities to promote the propaganda on mass media about the theme, messages, purposes, and meanings of the Action Month for Children 2019; and raise the awareness of the authorities, communities, families on taking care of poor children, ethnic minority children, and children with special circumstances, as well as giving them the access to medical care, education and equal development like any other children.

All children in the province, especially poor children and ethnic minority children, must be protected safely, without injury, violence, being exploited, or abused. At the same time, they must have access to policies and social welfare related to children in a convenient way.

On this occasion, 15 bicycles funded by AIA Life Insurance were given to children in difficult circumstances

Up to now, the total number of children in A Luoi District is 14,532, accounting for 30 percent of the population. In particular, the number of children with special circumstances is 1,031 (accounting for 7.1 percent).

On this occasion, AIA Life Insurance presented 15 bicycles worth VND 1.7 million each to poor ethnic minority students in the district; the provincial Chi Thien Fund awarded 20 scholarships worth VND 500 thousand each; and A Luoi District People's Committee gave 20 scholarships worth VND 300 thousand each to poor students overcoming difficulties in the area.
