The front page of Hue Today Weekly highlights the week’s major current affairs

In the Meeting section, we feature an interview with Ms. Dinh Thi Hoai Trai, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City, on the project ‘Promoting the Value of President Ho Chi Minh’s Relic Sites in Hue City’.

According to Ms. Trai, to effectively implement the project, it is necessary to shift from an isolated approach to building a cultural heritage ecosystem that connects relic sites with schools, craft villages, and community-based tourism; while also accelerating digital transformation and developing more appealing thematic tours.

The Reportage - Notes page in this issue

The Reportage - Notes page this week features the article ‘Preserving the Doc So Conical Hat Craft’. The article highlights the endangered status of the Doc So conical hat-making craft village (Huong An Ward, Hue City), where only around 20 artisans remain engaged in the craft. The article also proposes new directions, including trial production of lotus-leaf conical hats for tourism, preparing a dossier to have the village recognized as a traditional craft village, and developing an experiential space linked to tours.

Closing out the issue is a photo series titled ‘Keeping the Forge Fires of Hue’s Bronze-Casting Craft Burning’, honoring the beauty of labor and the skillful hands of artisans, who are working day and night to preserve the traditional craft of the Ancient Capital.

We respectfully introduce this issue to our readers!
