Prime Minister approves project on Bio-technology Institute, Hue University

HNN.VN - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved the project on developing Bio-technology Institute under Hue University.

Accordingly, the Bio-technology Institute, Hue University will be developed into a national bio-technology center in Central Vietnam, with modern, synchronous facilities and human resources capable of acquiring, mastering, and creating background technologies of bio-technology, and capable of conducting fundamental research tasks and transferring technologies to meet the needs of society.
 
By 2020, the project aims to invest in developing new infrastructure, a nursery and an experimental production area (greenhouses, net houses and facilities for making vaccines and biological products); complete and put into operation four laboratories for genetic, enzyme and protein, micro-organism and fermentation, and stem cell technologies.
 
By 2025, it will invest in upgrading facilities and laboratories to develop the Bio-technology Institute into one of the three national bio-technology centers on a par with ASEAN level; operate five laboratories of immunology and vaccination; bioinformatics; biological active elements and biochemistry; pharmacy technology; and marine biology; as well as building nurseries and experimental production areas.
 
The project will also develop and apply background technologies to create valuable scientific products, contributing to the socio-economic development in the Central and Highlands region and the whole country; and transfer technologies in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, health care and environmental protection in coastal and mountainous areas.
