Praising 85 students winning national awards

HNN.VN - On the morning of February 10, Hue City People’s Committee held a ceremony to praise and award national excellent students of the 2024 - 2025 academic year at Quoc Hoc Hue High school for the Gifted.

In the 2024 - 2025 academic year, Hue City has formed 11 teams of national-level gifted students to compete in various subjects, such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Informatics, Literature, History, Geography, English, French, and Japanese, with a total of 108 students, including 107 students from Quoc Hoc Hue High school for the Gifted and the other one from Nguyen Sinh Cung High school, who is a member of History team. The Mathematics team has 8 participating students, while other teams have 10 candidates. This is also the very first year that the Ministry of Education and Training has held a national competition for the Japanese language.

The teams were trained and enriched knowledge from October 20 to December 24, 2024. During this time, teachers from the training council and the team members diligently followed the training plans. Besides that, they also tried their best to ensure that the students were in the best mindset, and were confident to enter the competition held by the Ministry of Education and Training from December 25 to 26, 2024.

 This year, Hue City continues to be one of the top-ranking units in the national performance ranking table for the competition

As a result, the city achieved 85 prizes, ncluding 2 first prizes, 15 second prizes, 43 third prizes, and 25 consolation prizes (of which 83 prizes were from Quoc Hoc Hue High school for the Gifted, one third prize in Literature was from the High school for Gifted Students, Hue University of Science, and one consolation prize in History was from Nguyen Sinh Cung High school).

This is the year that the teams have achieved the highest number of prizes ever, surpassing 11 prizes compared to the previous academic year (74 prizes). Especially, 4 students have been selected to participate in the second round of the competition to choose the teams for the international and regional competitions, which is scheduled to be organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in March, 2025. With these results, Hue City keeps on being one of the top-ranking units in the national performance table for the competition

At the commendation ceremony, 85 students achieving high achievements in the National Excellent Student Contest this year were awarded by the Chairman of the City People’s Committee. According to the Resolution of the Provincial People’s Council (formerly), now the City People’s Council, the awards for the students winning the prizes included: First Prize, 40 million VND; Second Prize, 20 million VND; Third Prize, 14 million VND, and Consolation Prize, 10 million VND.
