With the theme “Youth of Hue University pioneering and volunteering in socio-economic development and contributing to sustainable poverty reduction”, the 2024 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign is organized at various schools, faculties, and urban areas of Hue University. The campaign also takesplace in Nam Dong, A Luoi, Phu Vang, Phong Dien, Quang Dien districts of Thua Thien Hue Province, as well as Dak Rong and Huong Hoa districts of Quang Tri Province. A total of 14 teams and over 5,000 union members are participating.
The campaign runs from May 26th to August 31st, 2024, focusing on one program: Supporting for the National exams and back-to-schools; and two campaigns: Green Summer and Red Flamboyant.
At the 2024 Summer Green Volunteer Campaign, Hue University’s youth undertake various projects such as “New Rural Lighting,” installing lighting systems at cultural houses and community centers; providing health care consultations, health education, and medical examinations for residents; visiting and gifting families under preferential treatment policy and revolutionary contributors; and participating in the “Green Sunday” movement for environmental cleanup.

On this occasion, Hue University’s volunteer students also receive training in skills, technology application in administrative work, accident prevention, drowning prevention for youth, and local tourism development. They will also engage in planting trees, transferring knowledge on socio-economic development, propagating drug prevention law, creating community bookcases, decorating kindergartens, and painting mural streets.
Immediately after the launch ceremony, more than 1,000 students from Hue University and student members from Hue City Youth Union began environmental cleanup activities to help restore the scenery of the Hue University urban area as part of Thua Thien Hue Province's "Green Sunday" initiative.
