The “Salad first - Start your meal with vegetables” is a Creating Shared Value (CSV) campaign, initiated by Kewpie Vietnam Co., Ltd. in 2014. The program has been implemented as a long-term and non-commercial effort. Through the coordination with the HTV-TMS Company, the program aims to spread the message of balanced nutrition and encourage the habit of eating vegetables before a meal - a simple yet effective solution to improve health.

Current data shows that the average consumption of vegetables and fruits among Vietnamese people is only about 371.7g per person per day. This is lower than the recommendation of 480g to 560g per person per day by the National Institute of Nutrition, indicating a daily deficiency of over 100g. From this reality, the “Salad first” campaign was launched to encourage the community to increase vegetable intake, helping to build healthy nutritional habits and promote sustainable health.

Previously, the program had been successfully implemented at many educational institutions, including the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, the Hanoi University of Public Health, and many other universities. In 2026, the activity continues to be held at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, contributing to spreading the message of healthy living among students.
