With the theme “Hue City - the process of construction and development through archival documents”, the exhibition features a wide range of rare and valuable documents, images, and artifacts selected from various sources. These items vividly reflect the historical, cultural, economic, and social imprints of Hue throughout different periods. A key focus is on documents showing the city's formation and development, as well as its outstanding achievements in economic, cultural, social, and national defense - security sectors.

Being held in parallel with the physical display, the exhibition has been digitized and made available online on Hue City Party Committee Portal, Hue City Portal, the Department of Home Affairs’ website, Hue-S, and other digital platforms. The application of information technology helps expand the accessibility, remove barriers of time and space, and bring historical documents closer to the public both inside and outside the city.

In addition to the exhibition, the Department of Home Affairs also produced a 10 - 15 minute documentary film titled “Hue through the course of history through archival documents” to recreate Hue’s development journey using original documents.

 Delegates visiting the exhibition

Through the exhibition, people have the opportunity to access and gain a deeper understanding of the city's history of formation and development, thereby fostering pride and love for their homeland. It also serves as an opportunity to strongly spread Hue's cultural values and the images of its people to the communities both domestically and internationally. This activity also aims to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the State Organization Sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025).

The exhibition takes place from August 28 to August 29 at the Archives Center (9 Dong Da Street, Hue City).

Hue’s elevation to a centrally-governed municipality from early 2025 has taken place in a special context: the country is undergoing a major administrative restructuring, reducing the number of provinces and cities from 63 to 34. While 52 other localities are expanding through mergers, Hue has chosen a different path - no consolidation, no expansion by aggregation, but an upgrade built on its existing identity and structural foundation.
