Preserving and developing the culture and people of Hue

The project aims to build up a comprehensive development of Thua Thien Hue culture and people, ensuring the harmony, as well as inheriting and promoting traditional elements, national identity. Furthermore, selectively acquiring advanced, modern, and scientific cultural values; developing the culture for the perfection of human personality, etc.

The project also contributes to building Thua Thien Hue worthy of one of the big and special hubs of the whole country and Southeast Asia in terms of culture and tourism in the period of 2021 - 2025 with a vision to 2030.

The project focuses on two main contents including Hue cultural values and Hue people’s characteristics. In particular, as for Hue cultural values, the topics focus on carrying out researches on tangible and intangible assets; on the topics of architecture and construction, on the planning project of Hue in the past and present; on the types of royal and popular cuisines, the festivals, the traditional handicraft villages, as well as on the characteristics of imperial culture, folklore and urban culture, and the art of Hue, etc.

In terms of Hue people’s characteristics, experts focus on researching cultural values and Hue people in the past and present; the conditions that form Hue people’s characters and style; Hue People in the period of opening up for international integration, etc.

Project’s route lasts 36 months, from September 2021 to September 2024.

The work of building up the project “Hue culture - Hue people: Preservation and Development” is necessary to promptly meet the programs and plans of the province, at the same time providing the necessary data so that the Provincial People’s Committee could propose to recognize the cultural heritage titles on the national and international rank.
