Painting exhibition "Trinh & the sound waves" to open on April 1st afternoon

HNN.VN - "Remembering Trinh Cong Son" was the theme of a music program celebrating the 82nd anniversary of the birth and the 20th anniversary of the death of the musician Trinh Cong Son, co-organized by the Thua Thien Hue Music Association and the Vietnam Musician Association in Thua Thien Hue on the afternoon of March 29 at Nha Ken.

The program introduced to the audience the songs written about the homeland, about love and life by Trinh Cong Son, such as: Hue - Saigon - Hanoi, Diem Xua (Diem of the past), Mua Hong (Pink rain), Quynh Huong (Scent of the Ephemeral bloom), Con tuoi nao cho em (What time and age for you), Nghe nhung tan phai (The sound of Evanescence), Dau chan dia dang (Footprints in Eden), Dem thay ta la thac do (One night I saw myself as a waterfall)... 

With the performances of the singers: Phan Thu, Huu Quang, Anh Thu, Minh Nguyet ..., the audience listened to the rustic melodies and simple lyrics but bold philosophy of musician Trinh Cong Son, in memory of the talented musician, a son of Hue.

On the 20th anniversary of the death of Trinh Cong Son, at Gac Trinh (Nguyen Truong To Street, Hue City), an exhibition of paintings "Trinh & the sound waves" will be held, opening on the afternoon of April 1.

The exhibition will introduce to the public valuable paintings of famous artists: Vinh Phoi, Dinh Cuong, Buu Chi, Hoang Dang Nhuan, Nguyen Dai Giang ... and also paintings by the musician Trinh Cong Son.

Twenty years ago, the talented musician Trinh Cong Son returned to dust, but his name and his music still live on forever in the hearts of music lovers.

“Once I happened to hear about my old native land…”

In 2000, in the short piece entitled “Hue Diary,” written when he returned for the first Hue Festival, musician Trinh Cong Son wrote, “When you have a place to return, or to visit from time to time, you are very fortunate. There, you have a river, a mountain, and you can find again your old friends whose hair used to be black has now turned grey. You might suddenly meet a Hue girl on the street and ask her, ‘Is there anything new in Hue now?’ And immediately, or perhaps by chance, she will recite the two lines from a poem by Bui Giang: “Da thua xu Hue bay gio/ Van con nui Ngu ben bo song Huong” (“Yes, sir, Hue now/ Still has Ngu Mount by the Huong river…”)
