Shaping the program frame
Hue Festival Week 2022 with the theme "Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development" will take place from June 25 to 30. The Organizing Committee of Festival Hue 2022 informs that, currently, the program activities have been confirmed.
Accordingly, this year's festival will include 8 main activities, including the opening art program; "Cultural colors" street festival; performances of art troupes; Beer festival; Trinh Cong Son’s music concert; the public performance "Echoes of Thousands of Ancient Years"; the program Harmony of the Royal Palace; the closing music night and nearly 30 other programs.
Mr. Huynh Tien Dat, Director of Hue Festival Center, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of Hue Festival 2022, said that the trademark programs in previous Hue Festivals will still be maintained and arranged evenly throughout the week of Hue Festival 2022. This year, for the first time, the festival is organized in the form of four seasons, and many programs have been moved to other times of the year, Therefore, the activities that have been retained have been taken care of and carefully prepared.
According to Mr. Dat, there must be an emphasis on the opening art program. It will be a general art program to introduce Hue culture and the culture of five continents converging on the festival. The program has a combination of many elements: art, ao dai fashion show, lighting technology effects... all promising to introduce new features and bring a new look to the show.
The same goes for the street festival program, in addition to the public performances of the art troupes, for the first time, local folk games in the province have been restored into unique street activities.
Hue Festival this year dedicates a large part of the program to cater to the young audience. Art programs of musical groups, young dance groups, electronic art programs, rock shows, etc., will bring freshness. The highly interactive forms of performances, including the stages, also creates conditions for artists and the public to immerse in the performances and not to perform in one-way type as in previous years.
Currently, the Organizing Committee has received the confirmation of 8 art troupes from 8 countries participating in Hue Festival 2022, including France, the Delegation of Wallonie Brussels - Belgium; Israel, Spain, Brazil, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Thailand; nearly 15 art troupes in the country, including Hoang Rob, Chillies Pop Band, Da LAB Band, Lao Cai Ethnic Art Troupe, Dak Lak Ethnic Art Troupe, Viet Bac folk art troupe, the contemporary dance group Lyricist - Vietnam Circus Federation, Hue Traditional Theater of Royal Arts, Hue Opera House, Unity dance crew and NINE Family and Flamenco Guitar group.
This year, there will be 5 main performance stages at Ngo Mon Square, Quoc Tu Giam front yard, 3/2 Park, Soldiers' Monument (Quoc Hoc Stele), Da Vien Park, and many other community performance spaces along the two banks of the beautiful Perfume River.
Especially, at Da Vien Park, visitors who come here can see art and have picnics. This is also a rehearsal for Da Vien islet to develop into a cultural - art park in the future.

Rushing to prepare
Mr. Huynh Tien Dat shared that the pandemic situation has had positive signals in the past 2 months. Since the time is quite urgent, it has affected the preparation work. All work must be "accelerated" to keep up with the set schedule.
Up to this point, despite the difficulties, the Organizing Committee has completed the most important tasks. It must also be acknowledged that, due to the influence of many factors, some works have been delayed, in which the promotion activities are not carried out as early as previous years.
The organizers of Hue Festival 2022 set a goal to complete all preparations 1 week before the opening show takes place. On the days from June 20 to 23, the final preparation of stages and review of the programs will be conducted. Currently, the procedures for international delegations to Hue during the week have been completed. Art troupes in the province are also rushing to practice to have the best art programs to serve the public and visitors.
In the coming days, the Organizing Committee of Hue Festival will carry out the procedures for licensing performances for the shows; signing the remaining sponsorship contracts; implementing the peak plan on promotion, conducting visual promotion on a large scale, releasing the official brochure of all the programs, focusing on the promotion of the content of Hue Festival on mass media...
In addition, other tasks include carrying out registration procedures and issuing cards for reporters; cards for the Organizing Committee, artists, and participating forces; training forces participating in Hue Festival service: volunteers, liaisons, technicians...
Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of Hue Festival 2022 Nguyen Thanh Binh emphasized that this year's Hue Festival 2022 is organized with changes and adjustments to have fresh features when associated with the four-season festival. The Festival continues to promote the results of previous festivals and shape the new festival to have new features according to the development trend. Hue Festival 2022 gradually transits to the form of the State, and local authorities "play the role" of planning, while the community, people, and visitors are subjects, from beneficiaries to participants.
