Hue Vegetarian Cuisine Festival 2019 attracts nearly 30 thousand visitors

After three days and nights, the festival attracted nearly 30 thousand visitors

Hue Vegetarian Cuisine Festival 2019 took place from May 17 to 19, organized by Thua Thien Hue Tourism Association in collaboration with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Thua Thien Hue at Ly Tu Trong Park. Many activities were held throughout the festival such as processing and introducing exquisite and diverse vegetarian cuisine; Flower-garlands and colored lanterns festival in the spirit of joy and peace of Buddhism; seminar on the conservation and promotion of Hue vegetarian cuisine’s value - opportunities and challenges in the trend of integration and development.

Each activity was an imprint of the festival, bringing to the public and visitors interesting and meaningful experience.

After three days and nights of the festival, nearly 30 thousand visitors participated in it and enjoyed more than 350 special vegetarian dishes.

At the festival, the organizing board voted "The most special vegetarian dish", "The most impressive vegetarian stall", and the vegetarian dishes which were most enjoyed by visitors and diners at Hue Vegetarian Cuisine Festival 2019.

The result came out with Saigon Morin Hue Hotel won the first prize for the most impressive vegetarian stall; while "The most special vegetarian dish" prize belonged to Rex Hotel (Ho Chi Minh City) with the dish named “Đậu dồn hồng xíu”.

On the morning of February 11 (December 24th in the Year of the Snake), at the courtyard of the Thai Hoa Palace (Hue Imperial Citadel), the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre organized a reenactment of the Nguyen Dynasty’s Imperial New Year court ceremony. The event attracted large numbers of local residents and visitors, helping to recreate the traditional Lunar New Year atmosphere within the historic royal court setting.
