General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum officially opened

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of July 2, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum and his family to inaugurate the museum, officially open to visitors. The museum is located at 144 Dang Thai Than, Hue City.

General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum has an area of 650m2, arranged into many spaces such as display, reading room, office, storage warehouse, garden, etc.

Mr. Pham Van Phi - Director of the General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum said that the museum displays 395 documents, artifacts, and pictures about the life and revolutionary activities of General Nguyen Chi Thanh, his important contribution to the revolution of Thua Thien Hue in particular and the whole country in general through the two resistance wars against the French and against the U.S., and the construction of socialism in the North.

The main exhibition topics include the homeland, family, the process of participating in the revolution, outstanding politician and military leader, important milestones of him and the gratitude of family, homeland and country.

According to Mr. Phi, the presentation format is refreshed, and solemn, with many applications of interactive audio-visual technology through touch screens and documentaries of high historical value.

In it, there are many images, documents, and artifacts that are displayed and introduced to the public for the first time such as articles and speeches by the General on army building, fighting individualism, agriculture, and countryside, emulation movements in production, on the strategy of fighting against and defeating the U.S., documents of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) commented on General Nguyen Chi Thanh, etc.

Besides, the museum also has a library to serve readers to research, learn and study through hundreds of books written by the General and the authors written about the General.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong reviewed the milestones of the life and career of General Nguyen Chi Thanh - a military politician, an excellent son of his homeland Thua Thien Hue, and an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh.

Therefore, the construction of the General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum in Thua Thien Hue is associated with the family's aspirations, and at the same time shows the affection of the Party Committee and the people of Thua Thien Hue for the great contributions of the General in two resistance wars against the French colonialists and the American imperialists.
