On the morning of the first day of Tet (January 22), Hue Imperial Citadel was bustling with many activities such as the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Ngo Mon gate; the unicorn-lion-dragon dance performance, and the art performance at the stage of Thai Hoa Palace.

At the long lobby of Dai Cung Mon, visitors also got the chance to witness calligraphy writing performances, receive the new year calligraphic word, and participate in royal games such as dau ho, bai vu, do xam huong, and tha tho. These were interesting experiences clearly expressing the imperial life during Tet holidays.

In the afternoon, there was a traditional martial art performance of Thieu Lam Nam Son sect at the stage of Thai Hoa Palace, together with the court grand music show at the stage of The To Temple.

On the first day of Tet, thanks to the nice weather, thousands of locals and tourists chose Hue Imperial Citadel as a destination for their new year trip. In addition to locals, joining the stream of people were a great number of tourists delegations from other cities and provinces, as well as international tourists.

With local people, the nice weather and free entrance tickets were the sensible reasons and ideal time to make the new year trip to Hue Imperial Citadel.

The activities such as the Changing of the Guard ceremony, art performance, unicorn-lion-dragon dance, court grand music performance, etc., will continue to take place on the second and the third days of Tet.
