Vietravel Airlines invests in Hue

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of June 11, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong and representatives of relevant departments and branches had a meeting with Vietravel about its application for investment policy to open Vietravel Airlines in Hue.

Vietravel Airlines project is invested with a total investment of about VND 1,000 billion. It will be put into operation in 2020, with capacity to receive 20 aircraft and 5 million passengers per year, contributing to improving Vietnam’s air transport capacity and socio-economic development, especially, the tourism.

According to Mr. Vu Duc Bien, Director of Vietravel Airlines, Thua Thien Hue is a travel hub of Vietravel among Dong Hoi - Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An areas. In 2017, this area welcomed 17.9 million tourists and accounted for 37% of Vietravel's domestic tourist destinations.

The selection of Phu Bai International Airport will help to navigate the flow of tourists in Dong Hoi - Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An areas through Da Nang International Airport, contributing to reducing the load for this airport in the coming time.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong affirmed that the province will create all conditions for Vietravel to implement the project; request departments and branches to accelerate the implementation of procedures for the project to be carried out on schedule.
